FreePrivateConvert ("we," "us," or "the service") converts video, audio, image, and PDF files entirely inside your web browser. This policy explains, in plain terms, what that means for your data.

The short version

The files you convert are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on any server we operate. Conversion happens locally on your device using WebAssembly and your browser's own Canvas API. We have no technical ability to see, access, or retain the contents of any file you convert — there is no upload step in the architecture for us to intercept.

Information we collect

Our own code collects nothing about you. There are no accounts and no usage limits, so our code never needs to identify you, and it never records or stores your IP address. The only information that exists is what any website's hosting produces:

Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) and CDN may retain routine access logs (e.g. request timestamps, response codes and the requesting IP address) for operational and security purposes, consistent with their own privacy practices.
Page-view statistics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits in aggregate (such as which pages are viewed) without cookies and without identifying you. It never sees your files.

We do not collect: your name, email, file contents, filenames, or file metadata.

Accounts and cookies

There are no user accounts, no login, and no user profiles — nothing to create, and nothing we could hand over even if asked. We do not use tracking or analytics cookies.

Third-party services

The app sends no data to any third-party service. Apart from our host, Vercel (standard logs and the cookieless statistics described above), no other company receives any information from your visit, and nobody receives your files.

Any future advertising on this site (currently inactive, placeholder slots only) will never receive your converted files, and this policy will be updated before any such feature goes live.

How to verify this yourself

We'd rather you check this than take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and convert a file. Apart from the conversion engine loading (the same file for every visitor, and only the first time), you'll see no request at all, and certainly none carrying your file, because none exists.

Children's privacy

FreePrivateConvert does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the service requires no account or personal information to use, we have no mechanism to collect it from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
